An Eco Car designed and built by a team of students from Leon School & Sports College

The Eco Car named 'Leon-ardo' won second place at the Shell Eco Marathon Challenge held at Rockingham Motor Speedway, Northampton on the 3rd July 2008. The Eco Car achieved 1723 miles to a gallon of Petrol. An amazing achievement. The Team was lead by Rupinder Jhita from Design & Technology department. Technical support provided by Dave Thorn. On site support by Alison James Reynolds, John & Jenny from Cranfield University. HONDA (Japan) was so impressed with the teams achievements that the team has been featured in a 'Green' film made by Honda. This has been released worldwide in November 2007. Click the videos below:
